Engine oil & filter
Oil pumped out through the dipstick tube, new filter, then we run it and check level and pressure at idle. This is the one everybody puts off because they can't find anyone to do it.
Mobile sterndrive service · Brevard County & Greater Orlando
Oil changes, plugs and filters for MerCruiser and other I/O sterndrives, done right in your slip or your driveway. Gear lube too, once the boat's on a trailer or a lift. You don't have to tow it across the county or leave it at a shop for a month.
Dock, driveway, storage lot, ramp. Anything under the hatch we can do with the boat in the water. The drive has to come out of it.
Plus parts and fluids. We tell you how long we think it'll take before we book the day, and we call you if the boat says otherwise.
Date, engine hours, what went in it, what's due next. Worth having when you go to sell the boat.
What we do
Labor runs $120 an hour plus parts and fluids, one hour minimum, half hour increments after that. Every price below is a starting point for a typical single gas sterndrive, and the short jobs are priced for when they ride along with another one. On its own, any visit starts at the one hour minimum. Some boats are just harder. If yours has the plug wires buried against the transom, we'll tell you that before we start instead of after.

Upper and lower drained and refilled, and we look at the magnet on the drain plug. Clean lube comes out amber. Milky gray means water is getting in, and you want to find that out in March instead of six miles offshore in July. The drive has to sit down and vertical to drain and fill properly, so the boat needs to be on a trailer, on a lift, or blocked in a yard. We can't do this one in a slip.
Plugs out, gapped, back in to spec. We look at the old ones before they go in the trash, because a fouled or washed plug tells you something about how the engine's running.
New filter, separator drained and checked for water and rust. Cheap insurance if there's been ethanol fuel sitting in the tank since last season.
Load test, clean up the terminals, check alternator output and the belt. Usually tacked onto another job while we're already down in the bilge.
Oil, drive lube, plugs, filters and belts in one trip, then we walk you through what we found. This is the one for a boat that hasn't moved since last year. Since the gear lube is part of it, the boat needs to be out of the water for this visit.
Bellows, impellers, gimbal bearings and drive alignment are past what we take on right now. Ask anyway. We'll either tell you it's ours to do or point you at somebody who should be doing it.
The process
Make, engine size, drive type, where it sits, and whether it's in the water. A photo of the engine bay helps more than you'd think.
How many hours we think it'll take at $120 an hour, plus parts. If your setup looks like a knuckle buster, you hear it now instead of reading it on the invoice.
Usually within the week. Most routine visits run an hour or two, and the boat never has to move.
We write it up and send it the same day: engine hours, what we did, what's coming due.
Where we go
Indian River · Banana River · Port Canaveral
Butler Chain · Lake Monroe · Clermont Chain · Toho
Not on the list? Ask anyway. If it's a reasonable drive we'll usually make the trip.
